Throughout its history, World of Warcraft mounts have more often than not left unused color variations on the cutting room floor. While the same can be said for Hunter pets, these mount versions were often requested by players eager to complete a collection or to have that specific shade of purple to match their character’s transmog. The introduction of the Trading Post to World of Warcraft allows Blizzard the perfect avenue to finally give the players what they want at little-to-no development cost.

Thanks to the efforts of Wowhead and other datamining groups from the World of Warcraft community, players now have a good idea of what type of mounts to expect from the Trading Post, with the most striking example being the Magenta Cloud Serpent. The results were compiled by art_prominence, who shared them on the official subreddit for the game. Players will be able to obtain these World of Warcraft mounts simply by staying subscribed to the game once Patch 10.0.5 becomes live, as each subscription will yield Trading Post currency on a monthly basis.

The collector’s value for many of these mounts is high, as players will finally be able to have a blue version of their Snapback Scuttler, while the Magenta Cloud Serpent will serve to complete the Cloud Serpent collection while representing the purple counterpart to the Violet Proto-Drake and Twilight Drake mounts at the same time. Many World of Warcraft fans are excited about these upcoming variations, and the concept of the Trading Post has been universally accepted by the game’s subscribers.

While Dragonflight will continue to support its Dragonriding feature, and players will be able to earn a unique Raszageth skin for completing Vault of the Incarnates on Mythic difficulty, it’s comforting for players to know that Blizzard is still very much invested in regular World of Warcraft mounts. As Dragonflight teases its next zone, fans can expect even more exciting mounts to collect in the content patch to come.
