The release of Dragonflight, while not without some problems, was hailed by current and returning players as a step in the right direction for World of Warcraft in the wake of the Shadowlands and Battle for Azeroth expansions. Between players enjoying the new Dragonriding feature and having no borrowed powers to worry about when it comes to balancing the gameplay, Dragonflight looks to be a breath of fresh air for the game and its players.

Starting December 9, two new Twitch Drops will be added for players to collect. This follows after the first wave of Twitch Drops were added to World of Warcraft for the launch of Dragonflight. Players that have linked their Battle.net and Twitch accounts together can earn these rewards. The promotion ends on December 13. The first of the new drops is the Cenarion Hatchling pet, which can be earned after watching four hours of Dragonflight content on Twitch. After claiming the Cenarion Hatchling and watching four additional hours of Dragonflight content, viewers can then claim the Swift Windsteed mount. Both rewards can only be redeemed once per Twitch account.
A total of eight hours of watching Twitch streams may seem like a lot, but time can be accrued by watching any participating stream at a given time. Unlike the previous Feldrake mount, which was the subject of controversy for being added as a Twitch Drop, both the Cenarion Hatchling and Swift Windsteed are readily available via Blizzard’s in-game shop for $10 and $25 respectively. However, willing players can save a bit of money by investing their time instead as they level and gear up their characters.
December 13 also marks the beginning of Dragonflight Season 1 for the raiding and Mythic+ dungeon scene. For players and guilds looking for a new challenge, the Vault of the Incarnates raid will be unlocked on Normal, Heroic, and Mythic difficulties. The Raid Finder difficulty will open in three waves starting on December 20, with the others opening throughout January. The Mythic+ dungeons for the new season include not only dungeons from Dragonflight but dungeons from past expansions including Mists of Pandaria. With plenty of new content on the horizon, and Blizzard promising to keep up with player feedback, the next few weeks will be crucial to determining the state of World of Warcraft.
