The best U20 players from around the world are gathered for the competition. Among those participants include selections from the 2021 and 2022 NHL drafts. 

There are 94 NHL draft picks at the 2023 World Juniors.

The Canadiens own the most selections with six, while the Coyotes, Blackhawks, Wild, Devils and Rangers each have five. The Penguins or Maple Leafs are tied for the least amount, as neither has any draftees in attendance. 

The Jets and Sabres are tied for the most first-round picks with three each. All three of the representatives from Buffalo are first-rounders.
